Discreet Cinematic Experience – The South Hams

The Brief:

The client was happy with how everything was working, but after a discussion at a recent service call the decision was made to revitalise the premium audio visual system in the South Hams, moving away from some components that were showing their age to modern acoustics, which allowed us to restore both the visual elegance and the sonic depth of the space.

The Experience:

The result is a seamless fusion of high-performance technology and interior design. By integrating discrete, high-fidelity audio with automated cinema features, the system delivers a breathtaking sensory experience without compromising the home’s aesthetic. It is a space designed not just to be seen, but to be felt.

Key Upgrades:

• Premium In-Ceiling Audio: The original speakers were showing their age, with years of UV exposure causing significant yellowing and staining to the bezels. By retrofitting some high-quality DALI loudspeakers, we restored a clean, high-end aesthetic while delivering a massive leap in audio clarity and performance.

• Deep, Musical Bass: To complement the new ceiling speakers, we integrated a REL subwoofer. This addition provides the signature deep, musical bass that in-ceiling units alone cannot reach, ensuring a full-range cinematic experience.

• Automated Cinema Features: The system features a Future Automation projector drop, allowing the high-end hardware to remain completely hidden when not in use, maintaining the room’s architectural integrity.

• Centralised Control: Powering the setup is an Onkyo AV receiver, with the entire ecosystem managed via an RTI control system. This turns a complex, high-end array into an effortless, single-interface experience for the client. The system has been expertly calibrated by us using the on board Dirac room correction software.
